#1. District Binh Thanh, Taiwanese Restaurant BO BAR Review
Taiwanese restaurant BO BAR is located on Pham Viet Chanh Street in District Binh Thanh, called Little Tokyo in Ho Chi Minh City. This is a Taiwanese restaurant with a casual atmosphere where you can taste decent Taiwanese food at a reasonable price.
This is a small restaurant that was converted into a restaurant on the first floor of a house in a residential area. There are a few tables in the hall. I visited on a Tuesday evening to dine alone, but there were only a few customers eating.
Since I was at a Taiwanese restaurant, I tried to order Taiwanese beer, but instead of seeing Taiwanese beer, I saw Chinese beer Snow Beer, so I ordered it. It was a lighter, more nutty and refreshing beer than Tsingtao beer, and it was quite good.
For my first dish, I ordered Taiwanese Beef Noodle. Knife-cut noodles is included in the dark colored soup along with beef shank, radish, carrots, bok choy, and chives, and the portion is quite generous. The soup is dark in color and appears to have a strong taste, but it is surprisingly light and clean.
Knife-cut noodles has a unique texture somewhere between pasta and rice cake, is quite delicious when eaten with mild beef soup. If the soup feels boring, you can change the taste by adding the savory and sweet satay sauce that comes with it.
For my second dish, I ordered Taiwanese Fried Chicken. This Taiwanese-style chicken is made by cutting the chicken breast into small pieces, marinating in seasoning, and then frying it. It was crispy, salty, and savory, and it was a great snack for beer.
The crispy fried chicken pieces are seasoned with seasoning and are delicious to eat on their own, but they taste even better when dipped in the sweet and sour mustard sauce that comes with them. Since the food is cooked after receiving an order, it takes a bit longer to come out, and since it is fried without removing the bone pieces, it has the disadvantage of having to be careful when eating it.
#2. Taiwanese Restaurant BO BAR Menu
Taiwanese restaurant BO BAR serves several main noodle dishes, such as Taiwanese beef noodle soup, and a few side dishes, such as Taiwanese sausage and Taiwanese fried chicken. Unusually, it is a Taiwanese restaurant, but instead of Taiwanese beer, it sells Chinese brand Snow Beer. Personally, I think China's Snow beer is much more delicious than the famous Taiwanese beer.
I visited for a solo meal on a Tuesday evening and ordered the following.
Taiwanese Beef Noodle: 100,000VND
Taiwanese Fried Chicken: 89,000VND
Snow Beer: 35,000VND x 2 EA = 70,000VND
I was able to eat my fill of Taiwanese food for a low price of 274,000VND. BO BAR is a Taiwanese restaurant with a casual atmosphere where you can taste decent Taiwanese food at a reasonable price. Although it is not a restaurant where you would come from far away to eat, I am glad to see a Taiwanese restaurant opening on Pham Viet Chanh Street in District Binh Thanh, where most of the Japanese restaurants are located.
