#1. District Binh Thanh, French Tacos Restaurant Hey Pelo Review
French taco restaurant Hey Pelo operates stores in the alley of District 1 and near the Hutech University of District Binh Thanh,where young locals in their 20s gather in Ho Chi Minh City. French tacos are a fast food made with French fries, cheese, meat, etc. wrapped in a thin tortilla. They are filling, tasty, and cheap, so they are especially popular with young local students.
I visited Hey Pelo in District Binh Thanh to have a meal alone on a Thursday evening. The duplex structure gave the restaurant a nice open feel and made it feel much larger than it actually was. And the neon signs and cute pictures on the wide walls made it not boring.
I ordered French Tacos(Vua, Medium), french fries, and a craft beer. They made the food after I ordered it, so it took quite a while for fast food.
The only beer they sold was their own brand, Bia Pelo Craft Beer. It was a wheat beer with a light golden color and a soft, subtle floral and fruity aroma that was quite attractive. It was a beer that went well with oily and spicy foods like French tacos.
I ordered French Tacos(Vua, Medium) and was given a choice of two meats. I chose ground beef and chicken sausage. For the vegetables, I chose lettuce, onion, and tomato. For the sauce, I chose garlic, samurai, and sweet pelo, and as an additional topping, I added mozzarella cheese.
Half of the tortilla was filled with french fries and the rest was filled with my choice of ingredients. Usually, tacos feel fresh and healthy, but this one was greasy, spicy, and heavy, which is what I think of as fast food, and it couldn't taste bad.
The only side menu, Crispy French Fries, were fried more than twice, so the texture of the fries was crispy as the name suggests. Hey Pelo is a fast food restaurant like McDonald's or Subway, but it is quite attractive because can enjoy a lot of delicious French tacos at a cheap price.
#2. French Tacos Restaurant Hey Pelo Menu
French tacos restaurant Hey Pelo specializes in French tacos, and the larger the size, the more meat you can choose, and there are no limits to the choice of vegetables and sauces. For the Medium-size(Vua), you can choose two kinds of meat, and for the largest Maxi, you can choose four kinds of meat. It is enough to fill you up even if you order Nho(small) as a meal.
I visited for dinner alone on a Thursday evening and ordered as follows:
French Tacos(Vua): 175,000VND
Mozzarella Cheese: 30,000VND
Crispy French Fries: 60,000VND
Bia Pelo Craft Beer: 60,000VND
For a total of 325,000VND, I was able to enjoy a hearty French tacos. Hey Pelo is a fast food restaurant similar to McDonald’s or Subway, but it is quite attractive because you can enjoy hearty and delicious French tacos at a cheap price.
