#1. District 7, Phu My Hung Japanese Restaurant WASAKURA Review
Japanese restaurant WASAKURA is located in the alley where Artisan Bakery is located, opposite BACK'S BURGER, Phu My Hung, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. It sells a variety of Japanese food, including sushi, ramen, and sashimi donburi, at reasonable prices. The food is also quite delicious, making it a popular restaurant frequented by Japanese people in the area.
I visited alone for dinner on a Thursday evening and took a seat at the bar table facing the kitchen. This restaurant has been in business for over 10 years in Phu My Hung and has particularly many regular Japanese customers. On this day, all the customers except me were Japanese.
Since I came to a Japanese restaurant this day, I had to drink Japanese beer. In the past, I only could drink Sapporo in Vietnam, but ever since Asahi started coming to Vietnam, I've been drinking only Asahi. Although it has a weak taste and aroma, its high refreshing and clean finish are attractive.
For my first dish, I ordered Omakase Sushi 10 Pieces Premium. The menu is quite generous with Chutoro, Hirame, Akami, Hirame, Salmon, Hotate, Salmon Aburi, Salmon Roe Gunkan, Uni Gunkan, Unagi, and Tamagoyaki. Because is the omakase menu, the sushi composition may change slightly depending on the availability of ingredients that day.
WASAKURA's sushi size is large and 10 pieces was enough to fill my stomach. Although the quality of the ingredients or the nigiri skill wasn't special, it was still decently delicious entry-level sushi. I especially enjoyed the scallop sushi and akami sushi that day.
When you order omakase sushi, you get miso soup as a complimentary treat. This wasn't anything special, just ordinary miso soup with a savory and umami taste, but it's great with sushi.
The sushi was better than I expected, so I ordered a bottle of Kan Zake Dokuri(250ml). Because it was a cheap sake, the taste and aroma were not outstanding, but it was not bad to enjoy in moderation with sushi.
For my second and final dish of the day, I ordered Wasakura's Spicy Ramen(Japanese spicy hangover ramen). You can choose between four spicy flavors, but I chose the second spicy one. Chives, sliced red peppers, and red pepper oil were added to Japanese-style tantanmen to increase the spiciness. The spicy and savory taste combination quite good and suitable for those who like spicy food.

Japanese restaurant WASAKURA serves a variety of Japanese dishes, including sushi, ramen, udon, and sashimi donburi, at reasonable prices. VAT is already included in the menu price, so it feels cheaper, and the taste is decent and the portions are generous, so satisfaction is higher than other Japanese restaurants around.
I visited on a Thursday evening to dine alone and ordered the following.
Omakase Sushi 10 Pieces Premium: 695,000VND
Wasakura's Spicy Ramen: 185,000VND
Asahi Beer: 60,000VND
Kan Zake Dokuri(250ml): 155,000VND
I was able to enjoy a full meal of decent Japanese food for a reasonable amount of 1,095,000VND. WASAKURA is a restaurant where you can taste a variety of Japanese dishes such as sushi, curry, sashimi donburi, udon, and ramen at a reasonable price. It is a neighborhood restaurant frequented by Japanese people in District 7 Phu My Hung.
