#1. District 7, Phu My Hung Italian Restaurant Red & Round Review
Italian restaurant Red & Round is located in an alley near Sky Garden 3rd apartment in Phu My Hung, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. Since the restaurant is not large, tables fill up quickly on weekend evenings, so it is recommended to make a reservation before visiting.
I visited alone for dinner on a Thursday evening and took a seat at an outdoor table. Because it was a weekday, there were not many customers in the store. Although the air-conditioned interior is cool, on cool evenings when the sun goes down, it is better to take a seat at an outdoor table for a nice atmosphere.
I started off cleanly with a glass of Italian white wine Ceccatto Pinot Grigio. It was a dry, soft, and refreshing wine that was great to drink before a meal, and I thought it tasted great for the price.
Cheese balls and tomato sauce were served as appetizers instead of bread. It's a small piece of mozzarella cheese coated in batter and then fried. It goes well with wine and is a good light snack while waiting for your meal.
The first dish was Caprese Di Mozzarella. Salad consisting of mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, arugula and basil, sprinkled with salt, pepper and olive oil. This is a dish that allows you to enjoy the natural taste of fresh ingredients without being spicy.
Cut the tomatoes and mozzarella cheese into bite-size pieces and top them with arugula and basil. The fresh tomatoes, savory mozzarella, and arugula flavor, lightly seasoned with olive oil, pepper, and salt, makes for a great combination.
I ordered an additional glass of red wine, Tavernello Montepulciano, before our main. As a cheap wine, the aroma was not deep and the taste felt coarse, but it wasn't that bad as it set the tone for the dish.
The second dish of the day was Carbonara Originale, the main dish of the day. A gooey-looking carbonara and two slices of baguette are placed in a rustic-looking copper bowl. Carbonara contains egg yolk, pecorino cheese, Parmesan cheese, guanchale, and is seasoned with salt and pepper.
Crispy fried guanchale is added to the thick noodles coated with cheese and egg yolk, making the dish both heavy and luxurious. It's a little greasy, but you can add a little more black pepper to control the greasiness.
After the meal, the staff poured me an after-dinner drink of limoncello into a small glass. Although the alcohol content was quite high, it had a refreshing and strong sweet taste, so it was not difficult to drink it. It really helped me rinse my mouth after eating fatty foods.
Red & Round is a restaurant where you can taste high-quality Italian cuisine at a reasonable price. It is especially attractive because it is located in Phu My Hung, District 7, which does not have many Western food restaurants compared to Districts 1 and 2.

Red & Round serves most of the dishes that an Italian restaurant would serve. The overall price range is reasonable and relatively cheaper than other Italian restaurants located in Districts 1 and 2. There are not many types of wine on offer, and they mainly stock low-priced wines, but it is good to drink wine casually with a meal. If you want to drink good wine, it is recommended to stop by the wine shop near the restaurant before visiting.

At 674,000VND, plus 8% general VAT and 10% alcohol VAT, totaled 769,986VND. Red & Round is a great restaurant where you can taste authentic Italian cuisine at a reasonable price. It is especially attractive because it is located in Phu My Hung, District 7, which does not have many Western food restaurants compared to Districts 1 and 2.
