#1. District 7, Phu My Hung Bun Cha Ha Noi Review
Bun Cha Ha Noi is located in an alley opposite Korean BBQ Matchandeul in Phu My Hung, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. Considering the cost of downtown Ho Chi Minh City, the prices are not bad, and the portions are generous and delicious, making it a popular local restaurant frequented by Vietnamese locals and foreigners living in the area.
There is a grilling area at the entrance of the restaurant. Here, seasoned pork and meatballs are constantly grilled over charcoal until golden brown. It certainly appears to be popular local restaurant, as there are many customers eating, many taking out food, and many delivery drivers waiting.
This is a local restaurant that has been open for quite some time in Phu My Hung, so the interior is quite old. Nevertheless, for a local restaurant, it is hygienically clean, so you can eat without worrying too much.
One downside to this place is that it takes quite a long time for food to come out after ordering. It is true that in addition to the people eating at the restaurant, it is bound to take time when you see people getting takeout and delivery drivers waiting in line. I ordered a Dua Lanh(Fresh Coconut) and drank it while waiting for my food to be served.
After waiting for about 10 minutes, rice noodles(Bun) and vegetables were served first. I ordered Bun Cha Ha Noi Dac Biet(Special) and the amount of rice noodles served was almost enough for two people. Vegetables include Thai basil, lettuce, perilla seeds, and cilantro.
After waiting for another 10 minutes, the Nuoc Mam base bun cha sauce with seasoned pork, meatballs, carrots, papaya, etc. finally arrived. I ordered Dac Biet(Special) and the amount of meat in the sauce was significant.
Put an appropriate amount of rice noodles in a bowl, tear the vegetables into bite-sized pieces, sprinkle on bun cha sauce, seasoned pork, meatballs, papaya, carrots, etc. and eat together. The rice noodles, sweet and sour bun cha sauce, and the aroma and taste of the charcoal-grilled meat combine to make it quite delicious. The various vegetables and spices added at this time takes away the greasiness, making it not greasy and providing a good balance.
Bun Cha Ha Noi has the disadvantage of being busy and serving food late if you visit during meal times, but it is located in Phu My Hung, District 7, where many foreigners live, so it is easily accessible, and considering the cost of the city, you can eat delicious bun cha at a reasonable price compared to other nearby restaurants.
#2. Bun Cha Ha Noi Menu
Bun Cha Ha Noi's food menu is very simple with only Bun Cha as the main menu and Cha Gio as the side, but they sell a variety of drinks including fruit juice, Vietnamese coffee, soda, beer, and soju. The prices of the menu are not bad considering the cost of downtown Ho Chi Minh City, and the portions are generous and delicious, making this a local restaurant frequented by Vietnamese locals and foreigners living in the area.
I visited on a Wednesday evening to dine alone and ordered the following.
Bun Cha Ha Noi Dac Biet(Special): 70,000VND
Dua Lanh(Coconut): 25,000VND
I was able to fully enjoy authentic Hanoi-style bun cha for the low price of a total of 95,000VND. Bun Cha Ha Noi is located in Phu My Hung, District 7, where many foreigners live, so it is not only easily accessible, but the cost of living in this area is high, so it is an attractive restaurant because you can eat delicious bun cha at a reasonable price compared to nearby other restaurants.
