District 1, Steak House MOO BEEF STEAK PRIME Review(2024.02)

#1. District 1, Steak House MOO BEEF STEAK PRIME Review

MOO BEEF STEAK PRIME is a special branch of MOO BEEF STEAK, a Vietnamese franchise steak house, located in the city center of Ho Chi Minh City's District 1 and boasts a very luxurious atmosphere. This is a place where you can enjoy excellent service and high-quality steaks.

There is no problem in visiting without a reservation on weekday evenings, but on weekend evenings it is better to make a reservation as there are many people. Tables are spaced out more on the second floor than on the first floor, and the atmosphere is more luxurious.

My wife and I made a reservation on a Sunday evening and sat down at a small table in the corner of the second floor. Wine glasses are set on the table by default, but if you don't order wine, they will remove it for you.

A non-alcoholic passion fruit-based drink was served as a welcome drink. It was refreshing and fragrant without being too sweet, so it was quite luxurious and did a good job of whetting the appetite.

After drinking the welcome drink, bread is served. The sauce to be spread on the bread consists of chicken liver pate, tomato sauce, and butter, in order from left to right. The chicken liver pate was particularly delicious as it was savory and sticky.

Since I came to eat a steak, I ordered a glass of inexpensive red wine(Banrock Station Shiraz). Because it was a cheap wine, the aroma and taste were not deep, but it was dry with Shiraz’s unique taste, and had a decent aroma, so it was not bad to drink.

The first dish was Caesar Salad. It consisted of fresh vegetables, croutons, bacon, Parmesan cheese, and grilled chicken breast, and I felt that a lot of care was put into the ingredients and plating used. The taste wasn't much different from a regular Caesar salad, but the ingredients were good so it definitely tasted good.

The second dish was Pumpkin Soup. It contains a few pieces of croutons and is sprinkled with parsley powder, and the combination of soft, luxurious, subtle sweetness and crunchy texture of the croutons is quite nice.

The third dish was Bolognese Spaghetti. It was an ordinary spaghetti with a familiar look and taste, with tomato and meat-based ragu sauce. The staff performs a performance by grating Parmesan cheese on top, and you can adjust the amount of cheese to suit your preference.

The fourth dish was the main steak of the day, Angus Tenderloin(400g). I requested medium cooking and chose pepper sauce and gravy sauce.

Steak were lightly decorated with garnishes on a large, hot porcelain plate. Roasted tomatoes stuffed with pate and roasted garlic came as garnishes.

The steak was cooked to medium as I ordered and was in perfect condition. Of course, the ends of the meat were cooked more so it felt a little tough, but the center was soft and I was very satisfied with the unique Angus flavor and the chewy texture of the meat. The pepper sauce, which had a subtle peppery flavor and a savory taste, went well with the fatty meat.

The fifth and final dish was Exotic Coconut, which my wife secretly ordered to celebrate my birthday. A coconut-shaped cake and mango sherbet were placed in the center of a luxurious plate. It looked pretty and tasted sweet, making it a good ending to the greasy food. For reference, my wife made the order, but I paid all the money.

#2. MOO BEEF STEAK PRIME Menu

MOO BEEF STEAK PRIME serves steakhouse-style food such as steak, pasta, and salad, as well as a variety of wines and cocktails. The price is quite high compared to prices in Vietnam, but I think it is reasonable considering the restaurant's atmosphere, service, and food quality.

My wife and I visited on a Sunday evening and ordered the meal below.

  1. Pumpkin Soup: 168,000VND

  2. Caesar Salad: 188,000VND

  3. Bolognese Spaghetti: 238,000VND

  4. Angus Tenderloin 400g: 1,848,000VND

  5. Exotic Coconut: 158,000VND

  6. Soda Water: 40,000VND

  7. Red Wine: 278,000VND x 2EA = 556,000VND

  8. Wet Tissue: 4,000VND x 2EA = 8,000VND

At the 3,204,000VND, plus 5% service charge, 8% general VAT, and 10% alcohol VAT, resulted in a fairly high amount of 3,645,012VND. MOO BEEF STEAK PRIME is a wonderful restaurant where you can enjoy high-quality steaks in a luxurious atmosphere. Considering the prices in Vietnam, it may seem quite burdensome, but if you think about visiting similar high-quality steak restaurants in other countries, these prices are not so expensive.
