Kaisendon(Raw Fish Rice Bowl) Restaurant Kamura is located in an alley in Le Thanh Ton Japanese Town, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. It is one of the few restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City that specializes in Japanese-style raw fish rice bowls, and there is no other restaurant that does it as well as this one, so when you think of kaisendon, think of Kamura.
Inside the old, worn-out building, Japanese-style pictures, menu names, and posters are plastered here and there, giving it the feel of a long-established Japanese restaurant. I visited alone for dinner on a Monday evening and most of the seats were already occupied.
With the happy hour every day from 2pm to 7pm, you can enjoy a variety of drinks including Sapporo draft beer and highballs at a 50% discount. With a 50% discount on Sapporo draft beer, it is a very affordable price of 34,000VND, making it a great place to visit for a drink with raw fish rice bowl.
I ordered the Special Sashimi Rice Bowl. Along with the raw fish rice bowl, wasabi and pickled ginger were served in a small bowl. A large bowl of rice was piled high with various seafood, including scallops, tuna, salmon, minced tuna, sweet shrimp, and sea grapes.
Pour soy sauce over the wasabi & pickled ginger inside the small bowl. Wasabi and pickled ginger are very helpful in eating a huge amount of raw fish rice bowl. It's free, so if you don't have enough, feel free to ask the staff for more.
Like Sapporo draft beer, the highball was also a very attractive price of 34,000VND with a 50% discount during happy hour. They say a 50% discount event on drinks will be held until July 2nd, so it would be a good idea to visit before then and drink as much as you want.
I felt tired of just eating cold raw fish rice bowl, so I additionally ordered Rolled Omelette & Charcoal Grilled Eel. The combination of oily and savory grilled eel with sweet skein sauce and soft and salty egg rolls is quite good. This is a great snack for beer or highball.
Although Kamura is a bit expensive, it is a restaurant where you can taste authentic kaisendon using plenty of fresh seafood, so it is a good restaurant to visit when you are craving Japanese-style raw fish rice bowl. Until July 2nd, if you visit before 7pm, you can drink certain alcoholic beverages at a 50% discount, so we recommend visiting before the event ends.

Kamura, a kaisendon(raw fish rice bowl) restaurant, serves a variety of foods that go well with alcohol, such as grilled eel, egg rolls, gyoza, and croquettes, as well as meals such as tendon(tempura rice bowl) and grilled eel rice bowl. There are raw fish rice bowls made with a variety of seafood such as salmon, tuna, salmon roe, scallops, and shrimp.

At 717,000VND plus 8% general VAT and 10% alcohol VAT was added to 775,720VND, which is quite high for a dinner alone. However, I was very satisfied with my meal because I received high-quality special raw fish rice bowls, Japanese egg rolls topped with grilled eel, and because I was able to drink alcoholic beverages at half price because I visited during happy hour. Kamura is not cheap, but it is a restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City where you can eat high-quality raw fish rice bowl at a reasonable price. It is a good place to visit when you are craving Japanese-style raw fish rice bowl.
