#1. District 1, Le Thanh Ton Japanese Restaurant GOLDEN CURRY Review
Japanese restaurant GOLDEN CURRY is located in an alley next to the CJ Building in Le Thanh Ton Japanese Town, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. GOLDEN CURRY is a welcome restaurant that adds one more choice to Ho Chi Minh City, which has been occupied by Coco Ichibanya. It is a good restaurant to eat decent Japanese curry in a clean store at a reasonable price.
This is a recently opened restaurant and the interior is quite clean. There are cutlery containers, tissues, Tabasco sauce, soy sauce, and Shichimi on the table. The cutlery container has a closed lid, so it looks a little more hygienic than other places.
Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc was on sale for half the price, 20,000VND, as an event, so I ordered it right away. It is a beer that is soft, not carbonated, and has an attractive citrus flavor and subtle sweetness. It goes well with Japanese curry.
Following the beer, the Omelette Kurobutakatsu Curry Rice L(330g), which I ordered for a meal, came out right away. It was very generous with a huge amount of rice topped with a soft and rich Japanese curry that was not spicy, and topped with an omelet and pork cutlet.
I was surprised that the pork cutlet on top of the curry was quite thick without much fat, but was not tough and tasted better than I expected without any unpleasant smell. If you eat the curry, omelet, and pork cutlet together, it's the taste we know, and although it wasn't anything special, it was definitely delicious.
When you order curry, they come with Miso Soup and it doesn't taste bad. The staff poured the warm soup that was already made in the electric rice cooker into the bowl, and it was definitely better than the one made using an instant product.
Fukujinzuke(pickled vegetables) is also served, it is essential with Japanese curry. If you keep eating mild-flavored curry, you may get boring, but you can make the meal more delicious by adding fukujinzuke, shichimi, or Tabasco sauce.

GOLDEN CURRY is a Japanese curry restaurant that offers a wide range of combinations of one curry base with various toppings such as pork cutlet, sausage, bacon, and omelet. There are five sizes to choose from: SS, S, M, L, and LL. For adult men who eat well, L is recommended, and for women, ordering M or S seems to be sufficient. In addition to curry, we also serve simple Japanese food such as salad, udon, soba, and gyudon.
I visited on a Wednesday evening to dine alone and ordered the following.
Omelette Kurobutakatsu Curry Rice L(330g): 249,000VND
1664 Blanc Beer: 20,000VND
I was able to eat a hearty Japanese curry for the low price of 290,520 VND, including 3% VAT and 5% service charge.
