#1. District 1, Italian Restaurant Carpaccio Review
Italian restaurant Carpaccio is located opposite Korean restaurant Kyung Bok Gung on Hai Ba Trung Street near Park Hyatt Saigon, a five star hotel in Ho Chi Minh City's District 1. This restaurant is run by an Italian owner, and most of the customers are Westerners.
As I entered the restaurant, I had a nice feeling about the spacious interior, which was much neater and more luxurious than I expected. At the very back of the restaurant, there is a dining area and a wine cellar that are not visible from the entrance. I visited on a Thursday evening to dine alone, and again on that day, more than half of the guests were Westerners.
After being guided by the staff, I sat down at a small table and immediately ordered wine with dishes. For my first wine, I ordered 2021 TERRE FORTI Pinot Grigio Delle Venezie. It was an inexpensive Italian white wine that was relatively refreshing and good for a light drink before a meal.
Following the white wine, appetizer was served, which consisted of baguette and focaccia, butter, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Focaccia, which has a fluffy, soft texture and a light taste, was dipped in sour and savory olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and it was really delicious.
The first dish was Crema di Funghi(Creamy Mushroom Soup). The soft mushroom soup with a subtle umami flavor was complemented by the texture of crunchy croutons and chewy button mushrooms, so the taste was mediocre but not boring.
I ate the soup and ordered a second glass of wine. 2021 TERRE FORTI Merlot Puglia Emilia-Romagna is an inexpensive Italian red wine. The taste and aroma are not deep and the character is faint, but it is quite dry and smooth to drink, so it is easy to drink with Italian food.
The second dish was Tagliatelle Bolognese. This pasta dish is made with long, wide tagliatelle noodles mixed in a tomato-based meat ragu sauce with parmesan cheese, and was attractive for its variety of flavors and light taste without being overpowering.
Carpaccio is a proper Italian restaurant where you can enjoy authentic Italian cuisine in the city center of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. It is a wonderful restaurant with a luxurious atmosphere and excellent staff service, making it well worth a visit.

Carpaccio's menu has large photos of the food and the names of the dishes written in Italian, English, and Vietnamese, which is very helpful for people who are not familiar with Italian cuisine in choosing a menu. You can enjoy Italian cuisine at a reasonable price, and they serve a variety of wines, from cheap to expensive wines, making it a great place to enjoy a pleasant meal with wine.
I visited alone for dinner on a Thursday evening and ordered the following.
Crema di Funghi: 150,000VND
Tagliatelle Bolognese: 180,000VND
2021 TERRE FORTI Merlot Puglia(Red Wine): 140,000VND
2021 TERRE FORTI Pinot Grigio(White Wine): 140,000VND
At the 610,000VND, plus 5% service charge, 8% general VAT, and 10% alcohol VAT, came to a total of 697,620VND. Not a bad feeling considering I had eaten two Italian dishes and drank two glasses of wine, I was able to have a pleasant meal in a fairly luxurious and clean restaurant.
