#1. District 1, Ben Thanh Market Terraviva Pizza & Italian Cuisine Review
Terraviva Pizza & Italian Cuisine is located on the rooftop of a small building near Ben Thanh Market in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City, so it may be a little difficult to find on your first visit. There is a small entrance with a sign on the right side of the building, and you can take the stairs at the end of the narrow hallway and walk up to the rooftop.
There is a restaurant located on the rooftop of the building that is open on all sides. Since there is no air conditioning and only fans, it is actually not a good place to visit on the afternoons of Ho Chi Minh's dry season(December to April), which is the hottest weather without rain. I visited during lunch time on a Thursday and there was no one there.
Since I was at an Italian restaurant, I started with an Italian red wine, NIPOZZANO RISERVA CHIANTI RUFINA. This is a mid-priced red wine that I can drink by the glass at this restaurant. It was quite fragrant, dry, and smooth to drink.
I ordered Caprese Di Bufala as a starter. It was an attractive salad with a simple, fresh taste made with mozzarella cheese made from water buffalo milk, tomatoes, and basil. Seasoned with olive oil, salt, pepper, and balsamic vinegar, it was colorful and not boring.
Just cut the tomatoes and mozzarella cheese into bite-size pieces and top them with basil, olives, etc. If you think the seasoning is a little lacking, just sprinkle more salt and pepper on the table to suit your taste.
While waiting for the main dish, I ordered a bottle of Italian beer Peroni. It is a golden-colored lager that does not have a strong taste and aroma, has a refreshing feeling, and has a clean finish, making it a beer that goes well with Italian food.
I ordered Bella Napoli Full for my main dish. This is a very basic pizza that uses only tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese made from water buffalo milk, and basil, making it an attractive pizza where you can enjoy the original taste of the ingredients.
A small glass bottle came with the pizza, and at first I thought it was honey. I tried spraying it on pizza and it turned out to be chili pepper olive oil. It adds the aroma and spiciness of Italian pepper peperoncino and is used in various Italian dishes such as pizza, pasta, and soup.
Sprinkling a moderately amount of chili pepper olive oil on the pizza slices added a luxurious flavor, aroma, and spiciness to the light and savory pizza, making it even more delicious. There is a big difference in taste before and after sprinkling it, so if you like spicy tastes, it's a good idea to try sprinkling it once.
After meal, the staff poured me a glass of lemon liqueur. The alcohol content is higher than it looks at over 20 degrees, but the amount is not large, so it is not hard to drink. It's an Italian-style after-meal drink with a sweet and refreshing taste that really helped cleanse my mouth after a meal.
#2. Terraviva Pizza & Italian Cuisine Menu
Terraviva Pizza & Italian Cuisine has most of the menu you would expect from an Italian restaurant. There is located in the center of Ho Chi Minh City, and the prices for the dishes are generally reasonable, but the prices for drinks, especially beer and wine, are quite high.
I visited alone during lunch time on a Thursday and ordered the meal below.

Bella Napoli Full: 210,000VND
Nipozzano Riserva Chianti Rufina: 250,000VND
Peroni Beer: 100,000VND
At the 750,000VND, plus 8% general VAT and 10% alcohol VAT, came out to a reasonable amount of 817,000VND. Located in the center of Ho Chi Minh City, this is an attractive restaurant where you can enjoy authentic Italian cuisine at a reasonable price, run by an Italian owner.
